Dr. V. Ravindra has more than 21 years of experience in teaching . He is a Professor of Civil Engineering. He is Member of Indian Society for Technical Equation, Fellow of the Institute of Engineers (India) and Life Member Indian Association for Structural Engineering and Indian Geo Technical Society. He won best teacher award by student evaluation of 2002,2003,2004,2008 batch outgoing students.
Dr. V. Ravindra, Professor of Civil Engineering, JNTU College of Engineering took over charge as The Registrar, J N T University, Kakinada on 10-9-08.
Dr. V. Ravindra, had his School and College education at Kakinada. He did his B.Tech in Civil Engineering from JNTU College of Engineering, Kakinada, during 1983-87. He did his M.Tech in Structural Engineering from Andhra University during 1987-89. He has joined JNT University service as Assistant Professor of Civil engineering at Anantapur in 1989. He got promoted as Associate Professor in Civil engineering during 1999. He has joined IIT Bombay on deputation as Research Scholar in the year 1997 and successively completed his Ph.D in Civil Engineering during 2002. He has worked on the topic Structural Damage Detection using Dynamic Characteristics under the Guidance of Prof. Abhijit Mukherjee, Professor of Civil Engineering IIT Bombay and presently Director, Thapar Institute of Technology, Patiala.
Dr. V. Ravindra got transferred to JNTU College of Engineering during 2000. He worked in various capacities as Deputy Project Engineer, Deputy Warden, Officer –in-Charge of Examinations Officer-in-charge of Hostels, Project Engineer (Civil) and took a key role in infrastructure development in the campus.
Dr. V. Ravindra, has guided about 50 students in M.Tech Structural Engineering and 2 Ph.Ds in Civil Engineering and presently guiding 9 research students for their PhD works. His areas of interest are Structural Health Monitoring, Non Destructive Evaluation, Special Concretes, Earthquake Resistant Design and Transmission Towers.
He has 30 publications in various Journals, International and National conferences. Recently he has conducted a “National Conference on Recent Developments in Structural Engineering” and an “International Workshop on Fiber Composites, Special Concretes and Structures”.
Dr. V. Ravindra is also very active in various consultancy projects in and around East Godavari District. He has rendered his services to many Government organizations like Indian Railways, Roads and Buildings, Irrigation, Kakinada Municipal Corporation, Polavaram Projects, Panchayatraj, APTRANSCO, AP Police Housing Corporation, APIIDC, BSNL, SVVS Devastanams Annavaram and Private organizations like GFCL, NFCL, ONGC, Silk Road Sugars, Spectrum Power Plant, GVK Power Plant, Navayuga Engineering Company, Kakinada Sea Ports, Reliance, AFCONS, ITDA, IOCL and he is the member of various Quality control teams of various irrigation works going in and around East Godavari District.
