JNTU Kakinada signs a MoU with Wipro
Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU) Kakinada and Mission 10X, a not-for-profit trust floated by Wipro Limited, on Monday signed a MoU for faculty development whose ultimate aim is to enhance employability skills of engineering students.
The MoU will be in vogue for three years during which period faculty members of JNTU-K campus and affiliated colleges would be imparted innovative techniques of teaching which would make classroom sessions more purposeful and multi-dimensional. Announcing the launch of Mission 10X, Vice-Chancellor Allam Appa Rao said the focus was on empowering faculty members and promoting successful educational experiences among the students who are the ultimate beneficiaries of such ventures.
The tie-up with Mission 10X would help the University in devising appropriate strategies for effectively delivering the goods in its bid to become a world - class institution, Prof. Rao asserted.
Wipro Technologies Senior Vice-President (Talent Transformation) D Selvan said 10,000 teachers were targeted to be trained in concepts of communicating the respective subjects in an innovative manner and 2,500 have already passed out of first level of the three-tier certification system of IIT, Mumbai, Dale Carnegie Training and Cambridge University. On completion of the preliminary sessions in `high impact training skills’, the trainees would be given assignments and asked to implement their concepts in the classrooms.
