JNTU K strives to be a centre of excellence in research, teaching and policy and practice, associated with the planning and management. Our dedicated faculty is geared up for research and planning which encompasses the policy areas of engineering, economy and land-use planning. We are research-led. This does not mean that teaching policy is secondary. Rather, it means that these areas are continually informed by the internationally-recognised research activity which our academic staff undertakes. We are continually updating and strengthening our policies, methods and practices, through internationally- recognised research activities and knowledge creation, undertaken by our research scholars and academic staff. Our research and PhD programmes try to establish links between theory, policy and practice. This also ranges from a longstanding base in the state through a range of national and international collaborative links. All our Students, whether at Under Graduate level, or doing higher studies for their Post Graduate and Doctoral Programs, form an integral part of this creative learning process. Through this procedure, they learn to relate their academic pursuit to the social, economic, and environmental processes that shape our cities, towns and country. Our research focuses on the various ways in which community and the private sector can improve quality of life. Being an innovative planning school means that we cannot be an 'ivory tower' in the traditional academic sense. Our current and future plans involve closer links to external agencies and professions as an essential part of our knowledge and research base. Above all, JNTU K strives to be a place where students and scholars can advance intellectually in career and profession. There are numerous rewarding and varied career opportunities for our students throughout the country and world-wide. There are also a wide range of opportunities to conduct research both within and beyond JNTU K. |
